Gemba kaizen week are the foundation for “learning and doing” in the Gemba Mangement way. The Gemba kaizen week requires advance planning and preparation. During the week itself, the unique hands on approach begins. In the team kick-off, the problem is described and the team is challenged to be bold, observant and action oriented and make the improvements needed to achieve the desired results by the end of the week.

Following the kickoff, the team goes to the gemba to observe and record the actual current state conditions. The team proposes and quickly tries out their improvement ideas. In real time, they implement the solutions that work best.

The week finishes with a report out to Management team in your company about improvements made during the week. Your Gemba principal consultant will be with your team all week, providing guidance, sharing knowledge and at times “tough love.”
